DENVER CAP LUNCH TALK – November 6, 2018 Where do I end, and you begin? A Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Approach to Boundaries – Patrick Weeg, LCSW

Pushing, pulling, holding in, inviting in, letting go—boundaries we have physically navigated since infancy.  Early patterns of how we navigate space physically, emotionally and mentally often predispose us to ways of interacting with our environment in life.  Sensorimotor Psychotherapy offers a unique approach of using relationally embedded mindfulness to study how a person organizes their experience moment by moment. Explore with Patrick ways that Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body centered talking therapy, informs how we can clinically work with boundaries. Learn about the maps used in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Review how emotions as well as thoughts that go with the body can become tools for navigating life. Engage in somatic psychotherapy techniques for working with boundaries of your clients.

Patrick Weeg, LCSW  is a co-owner of the group psychotherapy practice Denver Center for Integrated Counseling LLC, teaches as an adjunct faculty at University of Denver’s Graduate School or Social Work and is a trainer for the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute
