DENVER CAP LUNCH TALK – October 2, 2018 “Psychotherapy: East and West ”   

Join a discussion of Eastern and Western thought in psychotherapy.  Carol O’Dowd, MPA, M.Div., MI, RP has walked the bridge between east and west.  Explore some of the key elements of Japanese psychotherapies and how Eastern views can be used in psychotherapy in the West. Training in methods of Japanese Psychology, Chapaincy and prior ordination as a Buddhist priest has given her an appreciation of Eastern thought.  Her experiences providing counseling in Kerobokan prison in Indonesia and offering training in Thailand and Indonesia gave her opportunities to move across worlds. Join Carol in this discussion of how to connect with clients using approaches/views from East and West. 

Carol O'Dowd, MPA, M.Div., MI, is  a Registered Psychotherapist with post graduate certifications from the Colorado School for Family Therapy; the Boulder Psychotherapy Institute, the ToDo Institute and Hongwanji-ha of Japan.
