The focus of the CAP Denver Network lunch will be an exploration of power
dynamics as the largest context for ethics. Interesting things can happen,
both empowering and shadowy, for therapist and client when there is a role
power differential. Engage in an interactive discussion and process to
learn how to increase your ethical wisdom and skill. A key to using your
power well is to stand in your strength while staying in your heart.

Presenter Cedar Barstow, M.Ed., C.H.T., is the author of the book: Right
Use of Power: The Heart of Ethics, and co-author with her husband, Reynold
Feldman, of Living in the Power Zone: How Right Use of Power Can Transform
Your Relationships. Barstow has developed and taught this approach to
ethics for the last 20 years to hundreds of people throughout the United
States and internationally. She has served as a professional ethics
consultant to numerous groups, chairs the Ethics Committee of the United
States Associaton of Body Psychotherapy and is a consultant to the Hakomi
Institute International Ethics Committee.

Cedar is a private practice psychotherapist, a member of the Naropa
University Adjunct Faculty and a Hakomi Therapy Trainer since 1989. Cedar
lives in Boulder and now focuses most of her attention to furthering the
development of the Right Use of Power Institute.

The Denver CAP Network is dedicated to "Integrity, Diversity and Belonging". Our monthly meetings are hosted under the leadership of CAP members Karin Dremel and Dr Carol Ann Watson.

We at CAP hope you will be able to attend this meeting to lunch, learn and network. There is no charge for attendance. You may bring your lunch or purchase something at Natural Grocers. (Free parking is available). The meeting is held in the kitchen meeting room located in the southeast corner of the market.

CAP is building a Resource Data Base to enable us to fill meeting/speaking dates well in advance.  This will ensure continuity of monthly meetings and help you save the dates.  Please share with us information about interesting speakers you see or meet elsewhere...or how about yourself?  Send suggestions for continuing education speakers to kdremel@msudenver.edu
