Insurance Resources

We are occasionally asked who to call to find options for liability insurance for ourselves and for our business, too.
If you have a college degree in a mental health field, you might try CPH & Associates and American Professional Agency, mentioned below.
If you do not have a degree or your degree is not in a mental health field, make your inquiries about liability insurance for Colorado Registered Psychotherapists or Coaching with CPH & Associates.

(APA insures only those with a mental health or behavioral health degree.)

CPH & Associates has been providing professional liability (also known as “malpractice” or “errors and omissions”) insurance to mental and allied health professionals AND life / health coaches for over 15 years.

Known for their customer service, CPH & Associates does not have any phone menus so you can speak with a REAL person on the phone during regular business hours 8:30 am – 5 pm CST, Monday – Friday. Aside from the typical options for $1,000,000 per occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate and $1,000,000 per occurrence / $5,000,000 aggregate coverage, here are some advantages of choosing CPH & Associates as your professional liability insurance provider:

        • $35,000 of state licensing board defense coverage is included within your policy at no additional cost, with options to increase for an additional cost, if desired
        • Up to 2 hours per policy year of our malpractice helpline to connect you with an attorney for legal consultation over the phone related to professional liability situational concerns you’re exposed to that may result in a claim against you as a professional. Please note: Daily practice operations, website, advertising & billing questions do not qualify for this type of legal consultation
        • Online application with proof of coverage emailed to you within minutes of submitting your application (provided your application doesn’t require an underwriter to review specific areas of your application)

As a Registered Psychotherapist in Colorado, the occupation you would want to select in the application from the occupation drop down would be “Counselor.” Questions? Visit our website at, email or call 312-987-9823.
