Colorado Association of Psychotherapists hosts Carol O’Dowd in an exploration of the meaning of freedom. In these days of turmoil and anxiety, it is easy to imprison ourselves. Carol O’Dowd, MPA, M.Div. is a certified Mindfulness Instructor and a Registered Psychotherapist with a private practice in Arvada. In addition to providing counseling at a halfway house in Denver, Carol spent five and a half months in 2015 offering counseling, teaching classes and opening up a Buddhist Temple inside a prison in Indonesia. Her background includes being ordained as a Buddhist priest by the Hongwanji-ha of Japan. She led services at the Longmont Buddhist Temple from 2003 - 2015. As an RP she has offered psychotherapy and taught mindfulness in the United States, Indonesia and Thailand since 2006.
